Phin Brewer Guide (1:2 Ratio, Hot Water)

What you need:

  • Fine-medium grind coffee

  • Vietnamese phin brewer

  • Hot water (195–205°F)

  • Scale & timer

  • Mug or glass

Ratio: 1g coffee : 2g water
(Example: 25g coffee → 50g water) — makes strong concentrate

Steps:

  1. Add 25g coffee to phin chamber

  2. Gently tap to level, place gravity press on top

  3. Place phin on cup, pour a little hot water to bloom (15–20g)

  4. Wait 30 sec, then pour remaining water (up to 50g total)

  5. Cover and brew (~4–6 minutes drip time)

  6. Serve straight, over ice, or with sweetened condensed milk
