What you need:
Medium-coarse coffee
Scale & timer
200°F water
French press
Ratio: 1g coffee : 15g water
(Example: 40g coffee → 600g water)
Steps:
Heat water to 200°F
Add coffee to French press
Start timer
Pour twice the coffee weight in water to bloom (30 sec)
Stir gently
Add remaining water to target weight
Steep 4 minutes total
Stir & plunge slowly
Serve immediately

What you need:
Medium-coarse coffee
Scale & timer
200°F water
Ice
French press
Ratio: 1g coffee : 15g total liquid (water + ice)
(Example: 40g coffee → 400g hot water + 200g ice)
Steps:
Heat water to 200°F
Add coffee to French press
Start timer
Pour twice the coffee weight in hot water to bloom (e.g., 80g for 40g coffee) — let sit for 30 sec
Stir gently
Add remaining hot water to reach total brew water (e.g., 400g)
Steep 4 minutes total
Stir & plunge slowly
Pour immediately over ice (pre-weighed or in glass/carafe)
Stir and serve cold
