French Press Brew Guide (1:15 Ratio, 200°F)

What you need:

  • Medium-coarse coffee

  • Scale & timer

  • 200°F water

  • French press

Ratio: 1g coffee : 15g water
(Example: 40g coffee → 600g water)

Steps:

  1. Heat water to 200°F

  2. Add coffee to French press

  3. Start timer

    • Pour twice the coffee weight in water to bloom (30 sec)

    • Stir gently

  4. Add remaining water to target weight

  5. Steep 4 minutes total

  6. Stir & plunge slowly

  7. Serve immediately

Iced French Press Brew Guide (1:15 Ratio, 200°F)

What you need:

  • Medium-coarse coffee

  • Scale & timer

  • 200°F water

  • Ice

  • French press

Ratio: 1g coffee : 15g total liquid (water + ice)
(Example: 40g coffee → 400g hot water + 200g ice)

Steps:

  1. Heat water to 200°F

  2. Add coffee to French press

  3. Start timer

  4. Pour twice the coffee weight in hot water to bloom (e.g., 80g for 40g coffee) — let sit for 30 sec

  5. Stir gently

  6. Add remaining hot water to reach total brew water (e.g., 400g)

  7. Steep 4 minutes total

  8. Stir & plunge slowly

  9. Pour immediately over ice (pre-weighed or in glass/carafe)

  10. Stir and serve cold
